ACPS med spa provides laser hair removal on the face, body, and sensitive areas using laser technology calibrated to different skin tones and hair types. Laser energy targets the melanin in the hair follicle's bulge and bulb, thermally disrupting the follicle's growth cycle while leaving surrounding skin intact. Multiple sessions spaced four to six weeks apart are required to capture follicles across their growth cycle stages and achieve lasting reduction. Treated areas include the face and upper lip, underarms, bikini and Brazilian, legs, back, chest, and arms.

Laser hair removal at the Aesthetic Center for Plastic Surgery Houston uses the principle of selective photothermolysis to deliver laser energy at wavelengths absorbed preferentially by melanin in the hair follicle, generating heat that damages the follicle's stem cells in the bulge region and the dermal papilla at its base — the structures responsible for hair re-growth — while the surrounding skin absorbs minimal energy. The effectiveness of laser hair removal is dependent on follicle activity: only follicles in the anagen (active growth) phase have an intact hair shaft that conducts thermal energy from the skin surface down to the follicular bulge and dermal papilla. Since only approximately 15–20% of follicles in any area are in anagen at any given time, a minimum of six to eight sessions spaced four to six weeks apart is needed to capture the full population of follicles across their asynchronous growth cycles and achieve the clinical endpoint of approximately 75–90% permanent hair reduction. ACPS uses laser platforms with integrated cooling systems that protect the epidermis during energy delivery, minimising surface discomfort and reducing the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation — a particular concern in patients with darker Fitzpatrick skin types (IV–VI), for whom longer-wavelength lasers with reduced melanin absorption in the epidermis relative to the follicle (such as Nd:YAG 1064 nm) are the appropriate choice. Treatment areas at ACPS include facial zones (upper lip, chin, sideburns, neck), the underarms, the bikini line and Brazilian zone (including the perianal area for male and female patients), the full legs (upper, lower, and all-inclusive), the back and shoulders, the chest and abdomen, and the arms. Patients are advised to avoid sun exposure and self-tanning for four to six weeks before each session, shave the area 24 hours prior to treatment, and refrain from plucking or waxing — which removes the hair shaft that conducts thermal energy — throughout the treatment course. Between sessions, any remaining hairs are managed with shaving only.
