ACPS offers a multi-device non-surgical skin tightening menu including Ultherapy (focused ultrasound), Morpheus8 (RF microneedling), and Ellacor (micro-coring), each addressing skin laxity and loss of structural support through distinct mechanisms. Ultherapy deposits focused ultrasound energy at precise depths within the SMAS layer and deep dermis, stimulating collagen neogenesis and providing a lifting effect over three to six months. Morpheus8 combines radiofrequency energy with microneedling to remodel the dermis and superficial fat simultaneously. Ellacor uses minimally invasive micro-coring to physically remove small cylinders of skin, prompting wound contraction and skin tightening. Treatments may be combined and are suitable for patients not yet ready for or not seeking surgical intervention.
Non-surgical skin tightening at the Aesthetic Center for Plastic Surgery Houston is addressed through three distinct device platforms, each with a different mechanism of action and appropriate patient profile, allowing ACPS providers to match the treatment to the degree of laxity, the target tissue depth, and the patient's tolerance for downtime. Ultherapy uses micro-focused ultrasound with visualisation (MFU-V) technology to deposit thermal coagulation points (TCPs) at precise depths within the tissue — 4.5 mm (targeting the SMAS-equivalent layer), 3.0 mm (deep dermis), and 1.5 mm (superficial dermis). Heating these discrete points to 60–70°C causes immediate collagen denaturation followed by a tissue repair cascade that produces new, organised collagen over three to six months, gradually lifting the brow, mid-face, lower face, and neck. Ultherapy is FDA-cleared for brow lift and non-invasive lifting of the neck and submental area, and is the only device with real-time imaging guidance. Treatment requires no anaesthesia or incisions, and most patients experience mild-to-moderate discomfort during the delivery of ultrasound energy, which can be managed with oral analgesia and topical numbing. Results may last twelve to eighteen months. Morpheus8 is a fractional radiofrequency microneedling platform that delivers RF energy through an array of insulated gold-tipped microneedles penetrating to depths of up to 8 mm, heating both the dermis and the superficial fat layer simultaneously. This dual-depth thermal effect promotes dermal collagen and elastin remodelling, reduces the pebbled or irregular texture associated with skin laxity, and can contour excess superficial fat when targeting areas such as the lower face jowl zone and submental area. Morpheus8 is applicable to the face, neck, and body (abdomen, thighs, upper arms) and produces gradual improvement over three to six months, with a series of two to three sessions typically recommended. Downtime involves redness, pinpoint bleeding, and mild swelling for two to five days. Ellacor is a minimally invasive micro-coring device that uses an array of hollow needles to physically remove small cylinders of skin — unlike ablative lasers that thermally destroy tissue or RF devices that heat it, Ellacor achieves tightening through the physical removal of tissue and the resulting wound-contraction response. The technique was developed to address the limitation that non-ablative devices cannot achieve meaningful tightening in skin with true structural laxity. Clinical studies showed measurable tightening in the lower face after two sessions. Treatments at ACPS are designed collaboratively with patients to establish which modality or combination best addresses the specific degree and pattern of laxity, often pairing Morpheus8 for surface quality improvement with Ultherapy for deep structural lifting, or following a course of skin tightening with surgical intervention once the patient determines their desired endpoint.
Ultherapy full-face from $2,500–$3,500. Morpheus8 face from $1,200 per session; body from $1,500. Ellacor from $1,500–$2,500 per area. Package pricing and combination discounts available.
