Assurance Skin, Laser & Aesthetics offers a structured, evidence-based approach to acne treatment under the direct care of Dr. Wong Soon Tee. The treatment protocol is stratified by acne severity, ensuring patients receive the most appropriate intervention for their skin type and acne grade. For mild acne — primarily blackheads, whiteheads, and a small number of papules — the clinic offers the Helios Carbon Acne Laser Peel and the Stellar M22 OPT (Optimal Pulse Technology) Acne Treatment. The Stellar M22 OPT delivers a targeted blue-light pulse that penetrates sebaceous glands to eliminate Cutibacterium acnes bacteria, the primary driver of inflammatory acne lesions. Adjunct dermatologist-selected skincare products are used to maintain the skin barrier and prevent post-treatment dryness. For moderate acne involving larger papules and pustules, Dr. Wong may prescribe topical retinoids, benzoyl peroxide combinations, or topical antibiotics alongside the Helios Acne Laser Toning protocol. Laser toning targets sebaceous gland activity at the dermal level, reducing oil production and decreasing the inflammatory load in acne-prone skin. Oral antibiotics (doxycycline or lymecycline) are added when topical therapy alone is insufficient. For severe or recalcitrant acne — including nodulocystic or conglobate acne — Dr. Wong prescribes oral isotretinoin (Roaccutane), the most effective systemic therapy for severe acne. Isotretinoin treatment requires regular monitoring of liver enzymes and lipids, which the clinic manages as part of the treatment course. Female patients are counselled on contraceptive requirements and teratogenicity. Post-acne scarring management (atrophic ice-pick, rolling, and boxcar scars) is available through laser resurfacing and subcision, planned at follow-up after active acne is controlled.
