Botox and Dermal Fillers

Botox & Fillers

Duration

30 min

Injectable neuromodulator (Botox) and hyaluronic acid dermal filler treatments for dynamic wrinkle reduction, lip enhancement, cheek volume restoration, and facial contouring. Dr. Seckel and his med spa staff offered Juvederm, Restylane, and other leading HA filler brands alongside botulinum toxin for non-surgical facial rejuvenation at the Boston Commonwealth Avenue location.

Non-surgical injectable treatments at Boston Plastic Surgery Specialists formed an important component of the practice's offering, providing patients with non-invasive facial rejuvenation options performed under the supervision of Dr. Brooke R. Seckel. Botulinum toxin (Botox and similar neuromodulators) was used to relax the dynamic facial muscles responsible for expression lines: the frontalis muscle for horizontal forehead lines, the corrugator and procerus for glabellar frown lines between the eyebrows, the orbicularis oculi for crow's feet at the outer eye corners, and the depressor anguli oris and mentalis for downturned mouth corners and chin dimpling. The temporary neuromuscular blockade produced by these injections softens the overlying dynamic wrinkles for three to six months. Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers — including Juvederm Ultra, Juvederm Voluma, Restylane, and Restylane Lyft — were used for volumetric restoration and contouring: mid-face cheek volume to address mid-face deflation and deepen nasolabial folds, nasolabial fold softening through direct filler placement, lip augmentation for volume and definition, marionette line correction, tear trough filling for under-eye hollowing, and chin augmentation for patients seeking profile improvement without surgical chin implant. A particular strength of injectable treatments performed within a plastic surgeon's practice is the physician's comprehensive understanding of facial anatomy — Dr. Seckel's surgical training provided a precise knowledge of facial danger zones, injection planes, and vascular anatomy that supports safe and effective filler placement. The practice also offered glutathione treatments as part of its skincare offering. The practice closed permanently in September 2023.
