Specialist surgical removal of moles, warts, skin tags, cysts, and other benign or suspicious lesions by Dr Chen Qiping, with histopathology available for any lesion requiring cancer exclusion.
Mole and skin lesion removal at Chen Dermatology is performed by Dr Chen Qiping, a fellowship-trained dermatologist and skin cancer surgeon with over 20 years of experience. The clinic handles the full spectrum of cutaneous lesions — from cosmetically bothersome benign naevi and warts to clinically suspicious or histologically confirmed malignant lesions. Every lesion is evaluated under dermoscopy prior to removal to characterise its features and determine the appropriate surgical approach. Removal techniques are selected based on lesion type, size, and location: shave excision is used for raised, benign lesions with a smooth cosmetic outcome; punch excision is suitable for small naevi or basal cell carcinomas; elliptical wide local excision is performed for larger or potentially malignant lesions, ensuring adequate margins. All excised tissue is sent for histopathological analysis where clinically indicated — a critical step in ruling out malignancy that is not standard at all aesthetic clinics. For confirmed or suspected skin cancers (basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, melanoma), Dr Chen performs oncological excision with appropriate margins and coordinates follow-up care or referral as required. The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia, is well-tolerated, and typically requires a single visit. Suture removal is scheduled 5–14 days post-procedure depending on the site. Patients concerned about a changing mole, new growth, or a lesion that bleeds or itches are strongly encouraged to seek specialist evaluation rather than attending a cosmetic-only setting.
