Contour Medical Spa offers SkinMedica medical-grade chemical peels in three intensity levels: Illuminize for brightening and light exfoliation, Vitalize for moderate resurfacing and mild hyperpigmentation, and Rejuvenize for deeper correction of fine lines, uneven tone, and texture. Sessions take approximately 15 minutes and are typically performed as a series of three treatments for cumulative improvement. Peels address hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, dullness, and early signs of aging.
Chemical peels at Contour Medical Spa use the SkinMedica professional peel system, a physician-grade line that delivers controlled exfoliation at varying depths to address a spectrum of skin concerns — from everyday dullness to more established hyperpigmentation and textural irregularity. The Illuminize Peel is the lightest option, formulated with gentle alpha hydroxy and polyhydroxy acids. It brightens the complexion, smooths superficial rough texture, and creates a luminous finish with minimal downtime. This is an ideal entry point for first-time peel patients or those with sensitive skin. The Vitalize Peel steps up the chemistry with a blend of retinoic acid, salicylic acid, and lactic acid. It penetrates more deeply than the Illuminize, addressing mild-to-moderate hyperpigmentation, sun damage, fine lines, and acne-prone skin. Mild peeling typically occurs in the days following treatment as the outer skin layers shed and reveal fresher cells beneath. The Rejuvenize Peel is the most intensive option in the SkinMedica range, designed for patients with more significant photoaging, deeper lines, or stubborn discoloration. It combines the Vitalize chemistry with an additional retinoic acid concentration for enhanced cellular turnover and collagen stimulation. Peeling and mild redness are expected for several days post-treatment. All three peels are performed as a series of three sessions spaced two to four weeks apart for compounding results. Sessions are brief — approximately 15 minutes each — making them easy to fit into a Northridge or broader Los Angeles schedule. The medical team guides each patient through peel selection based on their skin type, Fitzpatrick classification, and primary concerns. Patients from the San Fernando Valley, Porter Ranch, and West LA regularly visit the clinic for their peel series.
