At Miami Dermatology & Laser Institute, injectable cosmetic treatments — neurotoxins and dermal fillers — are administered by board-certified dermatologists with the clinical precision and anatomical depth that distinguishes physician-level injection practice from med-spa administration. Neurotoxin treatments use botulinum toxin type A preparations (Botox Cosmetic by Allergan and Dysport by Galderma) to temporarily inhibit acetylcholine release at the neuromuscular junction, preventing contraction of the targeted facial muscles and reducing the appearance of dynamic wrinkles — lines that form through repetitive facial expressions such as frowning, squinting, and smiling. Common treatment zones include the glabellar complex (between the brows), the frontalis (forehead lines), the periorbital region (crow's feet), as well as off-label zones such as the chin, lip lines, and platysmal bands of the neck. Dermal fillers use hyaluronic acid (HA) gels — most commonly from the Juvéderm and Restylane product families — to restore volume loss in the mid-face, soften nasolabial folds, enhance lip volume and definition, correct under-eye hollowing (tear trough), and augment the chin and jawline. Longer-lasting biostimulatory fillers such as Sculptra (poly-L-lactic acid) and Radiesse (calcium hydroxylapatite) are also offered to stimulate endogenous collagen production for more gradual, sustained volumization. Dr. Waibel's team uses detailed facial analysis to develop an individualized injection plan that preserves natural movement and proportion while achieving the patient's aesthetic goals. Results from neurotoxins typically last three to four months; HA filler results range from six months to two years depending on product used and treatment area.
