Liposuction at Dr. Cat Plastic Surgery encompasses both targeted single-area fat removal and the increasingly popular Liposuction 360 approach, which addresses the full circumference of the torso — abdomen, flanks, and back — in a single operative session to achieve a comprehensive reduction in waist circumference and improvement in the overall body silhouette from every angle. Standard liposuction uses a small incision through which a blunt-tipped hollow cannula is introduced into the subcutaneous fat layer; connected to a suction device, the cannula is moved in a controlled fanning pattern to mechanically break up and aspirate the fat. A tumescent fluid containing dilute lidocaine and epinephrine is infiltrated before suctioning to provide local anesthesia, cause vasoconstriction that minimises blood loss, and hydro-dissect the fat for smoother extraction. The Liposuction 360 designation refers to treating the circumferential trunk in a single session — anterior abdomen, bilateral flanks, and posterior love handles or lumbar fat pads — allowing the surgeon to sculpt a coherent, balanced waist reduction rather than improving one zone while leaving adjacent contours unaddressed. This is particularly effective in combination with abdominoplasty or Brazilian Butt Lift: in BBL cases, the liposuctioned fat is processed and re-injected into the buttocks, combining reduction of the donor areas with augmentation of the recipient. Revision liposuction — correction of contour irregularities, asymmetry, over-resection, or under-resection from prior liposuction by another surgeon — is a technically demanding variant also performed at the practice. Treatment areas include the abdomen, flanks, hips, inner and outer thighs, arms, back, bra rolls, submental (chin/neck), and knees. Recovery involves a compression garment worn continuously for four to six weeks and restriction of strenuous activity for two to four weeks; final contour results are visible once swelling fully resolves at three to six months.
