Dr. Salomon offers liposuction to contour and reduce stubborn localized fat deposits on the abdomen, flanks, thighs, back, arms, and other areas at his South Miami practice. The procedure targets fat cells that persist despite diet and exercise, and is most suitable for patients close to their ideal body weight who have good skin elasticity. Results are long-lasting provided weight remains stable. Liposuction is frequently combined with a tummy tuck or Brazilian Butt Lift, allowing fat removed from one area to be transferred and sculpted elsewhere.
Liposuction at Dr. Jhonny Salomon's South Miami clinic is a body contouring procedure aimed at removing localized fat deposits that have proven resistant to sustained diet and physical activity. Dr. Salomon, a board-certified plastic surgeon (ABPS 1999) and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, uses modern liposuction techniques to address areas including the abdomen, flanks (love handles), inner and outer thighs, back, bra rolls, upper arms, and beneath the chin. The ideal candidate for liposuction is generally someone who is at or near their target body weight but has discrete pockets of excess fat that are disproportionate to surrounding areas — a common finding in the flanks and lower abdomen, where fat distribution is largely genetically determined. Good skin elasticity is also important: liposuction removes volume but does not tighten loose or heavily stretched skin, which is why it is sometimes combined with a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) in patients for whom skin laxity is also a concern. The fat cells removed during liposuction do not regenerate. As long as overall body weight remains relatively stable after surgery, the results tend to be durable. Remaining fat cells elsewhere in the body can still enlarge with significant weight gain, so maintaining a healthy lifestyle after the procedure supports the longevity of results. Liposuction at Dr. Salomon's practice is frequently combined with a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) — to address both fat volume and excess abdominal skin in a single operation — or with a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), where fat harvested via liposuction is purified and re-injected into the buttocks to add volume and reshaping. The procedure is performed under anesthesia (local tumescent or general, depending on the volume and areas treated). Recovery involves a compression garment worn for several weeks, with most patients returning to sedentary work within one to two weeks. Strenuous activity is typically restricted for four to six weeks. Swelling continues to resolve over two to three months before the final contoured result becomes fully visible. Complimentary consultations are available at the South Miami office. Dr. Salomon speaks English, Spanish, French, and Haitian Creole.
