Dr. Michele Green's chemical peel programme spans the full depth spectrum — from superficial alpha-hydroxy acid exfoliants with no social downtime through medium-depth TCA peels requiring one to two weeks of recovery and specialised pigmentation protocols for difficult-to-treat conditions including melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. The light peel range uses glycolic acid (AHA) and lactic acid solutions at concentrations that exfoliate the stratum corneum and superficial epidermis, improving radiance, mild textural irregularity, and fine surface lines with minimal peeling lasting one to two days. These can be repeated every two weeks in a maintenance programme. Medium-depth peels at the clinic include TCA (trichloroacetic acid) in concentrations from 10% to 50%, which penetrates into the papillary dermis to address deeper dyspigmentation, actinic damage, moderate fine lines, and early scarring; the application time for a face TCA peel is approximately ten minutes, with recovery involving visible peeling from days three to seven and redness for up to two weeks. Cosmelan and Dermamelan are professional depigmentation peel systems designed specifically for melasma and generalised hyperpigmentation: Cosmelan uses an in-clinic mask application followed by a homecare depigmentation programme, inhibiting tyrosinase activity to reduce melanin production; Dermamelan is a similar protocol with extended homecare follow-up for resistant or deep melasma.
