Microneedling

Vivace RF microneedling combines ultrafine gold-tipped microneedles with bipolar radiofrequency energy to remodel collagen in the dermis and subdermal tissue. Used for fine lines, skin laxity, acne scars, enlarged pores, and overall texture improvement on the face and neck. Three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart are recommended. Two to five days of mild redness is the typical recovery. Available at Dr. Michele Green's Upper East Side NYC clinic.
The Vivace RF Microneedling system at Dr. Michele Green's clinic uses a fractional microneedling delivery mechanism combined with bipolar radiofrequency energy to treat both epidermal and subdermal tissue in a single session. The Vivace device features ultrafine gold-coated needle tips in varying configurations — typically 36 pins — which penetrate the skin to programmable depths and deliver RF energy at the needle tip. The dual mechanism produces two overlapping effects: the microneedle channels create a controlled micro-injury stimulus that triggers the skin's wound-healing cascade, prompting collagen and elastin synthesis and gradual skin renewal; and the RF energy delivered at each needle tip heats the surrounding dermis and subdermal fibroseptal tissue to a precise thermal dose that causes immediate collagen fibre contraction and, over subsequent weeks, neocollagenesis and structural remodelling. The Vivace platform uses insulated needles so that RF energy is concentrated at the tip rather than along the full needle length, allowing selective heating of the target depth while protecting the epidermis from thermal injury. This makes the treatment suitable for all Fitzpatrick skin types, including darker skin tones that may be more sensitive to surface heat from uninsulated devices. Treatable conditions include fine lines and mild rhytides on the forehead, periorbital, perioral, and cheek areas; early and moderate skin laxity on the face and neck; acne scars (rolling and boxcar subtypes respond well to RF-induced dermal remodelling); enlarged pores; and overall skin texture irregularity. A standard course of three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart is associated with the best cumulative outcome, as collagen maturation continues for twelve to sixteen weeks after each session. Two to five days of mild redness, swelling, and occasional micro-crusting are the expected recovery findings. NYC market benchmark for RF microneedling is approximately $300–$900 per session; clinic pricing by consultation.
