Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty & Brow Lift)

Type

Eyelid Surgery

Duration

2 hours

Dr. Avashia performs upper and lower blepharoplasty to address drooping lids, under-eye bags, and puffiness, as well as brow lift procedures to elevate descended eyebrows and smooth forehead lines. Procedures are customised to the patient's facial anatomy and can be combined for comprehensive periorbital rejuvenation at his Dallas practice.

The eye area is often the first region of the face to show visible signs of ageing — excess upper-eyelid skin can hood the lash line, create a fatigued appearance, and in significant cases impair the superior visual field. Lower eyelid changes manifest as hollowing, festoons, or persistent puffiness from herniated orbital fat. Brow descent compounds both issues by pushing more skin onto the upper lid and reducing the vertical dimension of the visible eye. Dr. Yash Avashia addresses each of these concerns individually or in combination at his Dallas plastic surgery practice. Upper blepharoplasty precisely removes redundant skin and, where indicated, a conservative amount of orbital fat or muscle to restore the natural lid crease and open the gaze. Lower blepharoplasty can be approached through a transcutaneous or transconjunctival incision depending on the amount of excess skin present; fat may be excised or redistributed to smooth the tear-trough transition. Brow lift — performed via endoscopic or direct techniques depending on patient anatomy and hairline position — elevates the brow tail and, where appropriate, the medial brow to restore a more alert, open expression without a surprised appearance. Combining brow lift with blepharoplasty often produces a more balanced periorbital result than either procedure alone, since the brow position directly influences how much upper-lid skin is available. Dallas and DFW patients undergoing eyelid surgery at Dr. Avashia's Central Expressway practice benefit from his training at Duke University and his aesthetic surgery fellowship at the Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute. Surgery is performed at the same building's accredited surgical centre, with most patients returning home the same day. Upper blepharoplasty recovery is typically 7–10 days; combined procedures require 2 weeks of social downtime.
