Type
Men’s Health Panel
Duration
30 min
A comprehensive blood panel for men covering testosterone and related sex hormones, metabolic markers, organ function and general wellness indicators. Results are reviewed in a GP consultation and used to guide decisions on hormone therapy, lifestyle changes or further investigation.
The men's hormone and health panel at Elyon Clinic is designed to give men a complete picture of their hormonal and metabolic baseline in a single clinic visit. It serves both as a diagnostic starting point for men with symptoms of andropause or low testosterone, and as a standalone wellness check for men who want to understand their hormonal health proactively. The core hormone panel measures total testosterone (including a morning collection between 8 and 11 AM for accuracy), free testosterone, sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG), luteinising hormone (LH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and prolactin. These markers together allow the doctor to assess whether low testosterone originates from the testes (primary hypogonadism) or from the pituitary-hypothalamic axis (secondary hypogonadism), which has important implications for treatment choice. Metabolic markers are included because hormonal imbalances rarely occur in isolation from metabolic dysfunction. The panel covers fasting glucose, HbA1c and a lipid profile (total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, triglycerides), as well as liver enzymes (ALT, AST, GGT) and kidney function (creatinine, eGFR, urea). A full blood count is included to screen for anaemia, polycythaemia and other haematological changes that may be relevant to hormone status or its treatment. For men with symptoms of fatigue, unexplained weight gain or mood changes that may not be purely testosterone-related, thyroid function (TSH, free T4) is added to the panel. PSA is recommended for men over 40 prior to initiating any testosterone therapy, as TRT is contraindicated in men with suspected prostate cancer. The clinic's GP reviews results with the patient in a follow-up consultation, explaining the clinical significance of each value in plain language and outlining any recommended next steps. Where testosterone deficiency is confirmed, the doctor will discuss TRT options and expected outcomes. Where results are normal, the consultation often pivots to lifestyle factors — sleep, nutrition, exercise and stress — that can modulate hormonal health over time. The no-hidden-costs ethos at Elyon Clinic means the total cost of the panel and consultation is communicated clearly before the visit.
