Laser Hair Removal — Lutronic Clarity II

The 755 nm alexandrite wavelength is highly effective for patients with lighter Fitzpatrick I–III skin tones and darker hair, as it is well-absorbed by melanin with relatively shallow penetration that matches the depth of the hair bulge. The 1064 nm Nd:YAG wavelength penetrates more deeply and carries a lower melanin absorption coefficient, making it the safer and more effective choice for patients with darker Fitzpatrick III–VI skin tones who carry a higher risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation changes from shorter wavelengths. The Clarity II's Intelligent Thermal Control (ITC) system monitors skin surface temperature in real time and adjusts energy delivery to maintain a consistent safe epidermal temperature during treatment, reducing the risk of burns from overheating while allowing higher fluences to be delivered to the hair follicle target. A course of 6–8 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart targets hair follicles across the multiple growth cycles (anagen, catagen, telogen) that exist in any given area at any time; only follicles in the active anagen growth phase are susceptible to laser-induced thermal destruction at each session.
