Alma TED (Transepidermal Delivery) is a non-invasive scalp delivery device manufactured by Alma Lasers, available at ForHair NYC as a standalone treatment and as the preferred delivery mechanism for the clinic's CRP (Cytokine Rich Plasma) and other topically applied hair growth formulas. The device works through a combination of ultrasonic acoustic energy and a co-delivered air pressure stream. When the TED handpiece is placed against the scalp surface, it emits low-frequency ultrasonic waves that temporarily disrupt the tight junctions of the stratum corneum — the outermost barrier layer of the epidermis — creating transient microchannels in the skin without any mechanical penetration. Simultaneously, the compressed air stream propels the topically applied treatment formula (CRP, growth factors, exosomes, or other compounds) into these temporary microchannels, driving the active ingredients approximately 4mm deep into the scalp dermis where the dermal papilla cells of hair follicles are located.
