GLO Med Spa Dallas operates the Lumenis M22, an FDA-cleared multi-application laser and light platform, to deliver IPL photofacial, fractional laser resurfacing, and laser hair removal treatments. The M22 is a clinical-grade system that supports multiple interchangeable modules, enabling the clinic to treat a broad spectrum of skin concerns within the same platform and with consistent, validated performance. IPL (intense pulsed light) photofacial therapy uses broad-spectrum filtered light to target chromophores selectively. For pigmentation concerns — solar lentigines, ephelides, melasma, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation — the melanin chromophore absorbs the energy, causing controlled photothermal destruction of pigment-containing cells; the treated pigment darkens and rises to the surface over one to two weeks before sloughing away. For vascular concerns including telangiectasia, diffuse facial redness, broken capillaries, and rosacea flushing, oxyhaemoglobin in the vessel wall absorbs the light energy, generating heat that coagulates and collapses the unwanted vessel, which is then cleared by the body's lymphatic system over two to four weeks. The M22's ResurFX module provides non-ablative fractional laser resurfacing: a 1565 nm wavelength creates an array of micro-coagulation columns in the mid-dermis while leaving surrounding tissue intact. This fractional pattern initiates a wound-healing cascade — growth factor release, fibroblast activation, and net collagen deposition — that progressively improves acne scars, fine lines, rough texture, and skin laxity over three to four months following treatment. Laser hair removal on the M22 uses a high-powered pulse delivered into the hair follicle's melanin to disrupt the bulge and bulb region responsible for hair growth. Multiple sessions spaced four to six weeks apart are required to address follicles across their growth cycle phases; most clients achieve significant permanent reduction after six to eight sessions. Skin tightening is also offered as a stand-alone application, using radiofrequency or laser energy to heat the dermal collagen network and stimulate remodelling. All laser and light treatments at GLO Med Spa Dallas are preceded by a skin assessment and a patch test where indicated, and parameters are calibrated to the client's Fitzpatrick phototype to maximise efficacy while managing the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation in higher-pigment skin types.
