Lower blepharoplasty addresses under-eye bags — caused by herniation of orbital fat through the weakened orbital septum — using either a transconjunctival approach (incision inside the lower lid, no external scar) or a skin-muscle flap approach (external subciliary incision) to reposition or remove the herniated fat. Lower eyelid procedures may be combined with skin resurfacing to address fine lines and crepey skin in the periorbital area.
