Dr. Rittinger performs rhinoplasty (Nasenkorrektur) at Nuremberg's St. Theresien-Krankenhaus to refine the size, shape or symmetry of the nose — addressing a dorsal hump, nasal tip projection, width, asymmetry or a deviated septum affecting breathing. Open or closed approaches are chosen based on anatomy and goals. Results aim for a natural balance with the patient's facial features.
Rhinoplasty (Nasenkorrektur or Nasenplastik) is one of the most technically demanding operations in plastic surgery, requiring precise manipulation of bone, cartilage and soft tissue to achieve both the aesthetic outcome the patient seeks and, where relevant, improved nasal breathing. Common goals include reducing or refining a dorsal hump, improving nasal tip definition, correcting width or flaring nostrils, addressing asymmetry or improving overall facial balance. Functional rhinoplasty addresses a deviated septum (Septumkorrektur) that impairs nasal airflow, causing chronic congestion, mouth-breathing or sleep disturbance. In many cases the aesthetic and functional components are addressed in the same operation (Septorhinoplastik), which can make a portion of the cost eligible for statutory or private health insurance coverage where a documented medical indication exists. Dr. med. Clemens Rittinger plans each rhinoplasty individually at his Nuremberg practice, evaluating skin thickness, cartilaginous and bony anatomy and the patient's expectations to choose between an open approach (with a small transcolumellar incision giving direct access) and a closed approach (entirely internal incisions) — each with distinct advantages depending on the degree and location of changes required. Procedures are performed under general anaesthesia at St. Theresien-Krankenhaus Nürnberg. Recovery involves wearing a nasal splint for approximately one week, with residual swelling — particularly at the tip — resolving over several months; the final result is typically fully visible at six to twelve months. The practice in Nuremberg, Bavaria is easily accessible from across the region, and consultations are conducted in German and English. Statutory insurance, private insurance and self-pay patients are all accepted.
Starting from €4,500. Cost depends on whether the procedure is aesthetic, functional (septum correction) or combined, along with anaesthesia and hospital fees — confirmed at consultation.
