Abdominoplasty (Bauchdeckenstraffung) at Dr. Rittinger's Nuremberg clinic removes excess abdominal skin and fat and tightens the abdominal wall muscles, producing a firmer, flatter stomach profile. It is particularly effective after significant weight loss or pregnancy. The procedure is performed at St. Theresien-Krankenhaus and often combined with liposuction of the flanks for complete abdominal contouring.
Abdominoplasty — known in Germany as Bauchdeckenstraffung and commonly called a tummy tuck — addresses excess skin and stretched or separated abdominal wall muscles that cannot be corrected through exercise or diet alone. The most common candidates are patients who have experienced major weight loss (through diet, exercise or bariatric surgery) or one or more pregnancies, which can leave the skin lax and the rectus abdominis muscles separated (diastasis recti). The procedure flattens and firms the abdomen by excising the surplus skin below the navel, repairing the muscle layer and repositioning the navel into a natural location. A full abdominoplasty extends from hip to hip and is appropriate when there is significant excess skin in both the upper and lower abdomen; a mini-abdominoplasty uses a shorter scar and addresses only the lower panel, suited to milder laxity below the navel. Dr. med. Clemens Rittinger assesses which approach best fits each patient's anatomy and goals at the initial consultation. Liposuction of the flanks is frequently performed at the same time to refine the waist and complete the abdominal contour; this combination is planned and priced together. Where diastasis recti is documented and produces functional symptoms (back pain, hernia), a portion of the procedure may qualify for health insurance coverage — the practice accepts both statutory (GKV) and private insurers and can advise on the documentation needed. Procedures are performed at St. Theresien-Krankenhaus Nürnberg under general anaesthesia. Recovery involves approximately two to four weeks of reduced activity and several weeks wearing an abdominal binder; the final result becomes fully visible as swelling resolves over three to six months. The Nuremberg practice is well connected by rail and road, making it a practical choice for patients travelling from across Bavaria and beyond.
Starting from €4,500. Mini-abdominoplasty is quoted separately. Combined procedures with liposuction or hernia repair are discussed and priced at consultation.
