PRP/PRF Therapy

Duration

1 hour

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) therapy at Klinika preventivní dermatologie in Ostrava, using the patient's own centrifuged blood concentrate to deliver a high-dose growth-factor stimulus to the skin for facial rejuvenation, scar improvement or hair-loss treatment. A small blood draw is processed in-clinic in a centrifuge to produce a platelet concentrate, which is then injected into the skin or applied over a microneedled surface. Growth factors released from activated platelets stimulate fibroblast activity, collagen synthesis and vascular regeneration. From 4,500 Kč per full-face session.

PRP — platelet-rich plasma — therapy uses the biology of the body's own clotting and repair system to stimulate tissue regeneration. Platelets are small blood-cell fragments whose primary function is to arrive first at a wound, activate, and release a concentrated burst of growth factors — including PDGF, TGF-β, VEGF, FGF and IGF-1 — that signal the surrounding cells to begin repair, collagen synthesis and new vascular formation. In aesthetic medicine, concentrating these platelets and delivering them precisely where the stimulus is wanted leverages the same biology without actual injury. At Klinika preventivní dermatologie the procedure begins with a standard venous blood draw of 10–20 mL. The blood is immediately placed in a specialised centrifuge and spun at a protocol-specific speed and duration to separate the plasma into three layers: the platelet-poor plasma at the top, the platelet-rich plasma (buffy coat) in the middle, and the red blood cell fraction at the bottom. The PRP fraction, now containing three to five times the platelet concentration of whole blood, is drawn off. For PRF (platelet-rich fibrin), a modification that produces a slower-release gel matrix of platelets within a fibrin scaffold, the centrifugation protocol is adjusted to preserve a fibrin mesh. The concentrated platelet fraction is then delivered to the target tissue. For facial rejuvenation it is injected across the face in a fine mesotherapy grid, into deeper lines or volume-depleted zones directly, or applied onto the skin surface and driven through the micro-channels of a concurrent microneedling session — the 'vampire facial' approach, where the combination of mechanical stimulation from the needles plus the growth-factor stimulus from PRP produces a synergistic collagen-induction response. For hair loss the PRP is injected across the scalp in the areas of thinning, where growth factors stimulate follicular vascularity and transition follicles back toward the anagen phase. Recovery is minimal: treated skin is red and slightly puffy for 24–48 hours after injection, and any tiny injection marks fade within 24 hours. Because PRP is autologous — derived from the patient's own blood — allergic reactions are not a concern, and the treatment has an excellent safety profile. For best results the clinic recommends a course of three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart, with maintenance once or twice a year. Full-face PRP is 4,500 Kč, PRF from 5,000 Kč, scalp PRP from 3,500 Kč. A 50% discount applies when PRP is combined with laser resurfacing or microneedling on the same day.
