The ICON's advanced cooling system and Skintel Melanin Reader allow safe, precise treatment across a broad spectrum of skin types by calibrating energy output to the client's measured melanin index before each session. The PicoSure with Focus Lens Array takes a fundamentally different approach: ultra-short picosecond pulses — trillionths of a second — are converted by the Focus lens into a precise lattice of high-intensity focal points. The extremely brief pulse duration creates a photoacoustic effect that shatters pigment and stimulates collagen and elastin without relying primarily on heat, resulting in less thermal tissue damage and shorter recovery periods than traditional nanosecond laser systems. This makes PicoSure particularly useful for clients who want skin quality improvements with minimal social downtime.
