IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) therapy uses broad-spectrum light to target pigmentation, redness, and visible blood vessels in the skin. Unlike lasers which emit a single wavelength, IPL uses a range of wavelengths that can be filtered to address multiple skin concerns simultaneously. The light energy is absorbed by melanin (in dark spots) and hemoglobin (in blood vessels), heating and breaking down these targets while the surrounding skin remains unaffected. IPL is effective for sun damage, age spots, freckles, rosacea, broken capillaries, and overall skin tone evenness. Most people need 3–5 sessions spaced 3–4 weeks apart for optimal results.

Preparation Required
Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning for 2–4 weeks before treatment. Do not wax, pluck, or use depilatory creams on the treatment area for 2 weeks prior (shaving is OK). Discontinue retinoids and exfoliating acids 5–7 days before treatment. Arrive with clean skin — no makeup, lotions, or sunscreen on the treatment area. Inform the clinic of any medications that increase photosensitivity (antibiotics, accutane). A topical numbing cream may be applied 30–60 minutes before treatment.
