This tests for 3 key hormones: follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinising hormone (LH), and oestrogen (oestradiol). Testing at this time provides a "baseline" reading of hormone levels, indicating ovarian reserve. High FSH levels may suggest problems with ovarian reserve. High or low LH levels may indicate irregular ovulation. This test helps diagnose fertility issues and guide treatment.

Fasting for 10–12 hours before your appointment is recommended for accurate results (water is fine). Avoid alcohol for 24 hours and intense exercise for 12 hours before the blood draw.
