Cryolipolysis (Fat Freezing)

Cryolipolysis ('fat freezing') exploits a biological quirk: fat cells are more sensitive to cold than the skin, nerves and muscle around them. A vacuum applicator draws the fat fold between cooling plates and holds it at precisely controlled low temperature for the treatment cycle. The cold triggers crystallisation inside the adipocytes and programmed cell death (apoptosis); over the following four to twelve weeks the immune system gradually clears the dead fat cells through the lymphatic system, permanently reducing the fat layer in the treated zone — studies typically report around 20–25% reduction of the treated fat fold per cycle. Typical zones are the lower and upper abdomen, flanks ('love handles'), inner thighs, bra-line and double chin — well-defined, pinchable fat pockets rather than general weight. A session takes around 45–70 minutes per area. The first minutes feel intensely cold with strong suction, then the area numbs. Temporary redness, numbness, tingling or bruising of the zone can persist for days to a couple of weeks. Results appear progressively from week four, with the final contour at about three months; a second cycle can be performed on the same area if further reduction is desired.
