Men’s Health Panel
Duration
15 min
A comprehensive blood panel providing a deep dive into male sex hormones including testosterone, oestradiol, SHBG, LH, FSH, and key supporting markers. Designed to diagnose hormonal imbalances, guide TRT decisions, and monitor ongoing hormone therapy.
The Protocol Health Men's Hormone Test is a purpose-built blood panel targeting the full spectrum of male endocrine function. Unlike a basic GP testosterone test, this panel maps the entire hormonal axis to provide actionable clinical insight rather than a single-number snapshot. The test covers total testosterone, free testosterone, sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG), luteinising hormone (LH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), oestradiol (E2), DHEA-S, prolactin, and cortisol as a stress-axis marker. Supporting markers typically include haematocrit and haemoglobin (to assess erythrocytosis risk), prostate-specific antigen (PSA), thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), fasting glucose, and liver enzymes. This breadth of coverage allows the physician to distinguish between primary hypogonadism (testicular origin) and secondary hypogonadism (hypothalamic-pituitary origin), assess conversion of testosterone to oestrogen, evaluate SHBG binding dynamics, and rule out contraindications to TRT. Blood draw takes approximately 15 minutes at the clinic's 71 Robinson Road location. Results are reviewed by a licensed physician who provides an interpretation of each marker in the context of the client's symptoms, age, and health history. The Men's Hormone Test is appropriate as a standalone diagnostic for men experiencing fatigue, low libido, mood disturbance, or physical performance decline, and serves as the mandatory baseline assessment before initiating Protocol Health's TRT programme. It is also used for quarterly or six-monthly monitoring during active hormone therapy to track efficacy and safety parameters.
