Schön Klinik Hamburg Eilbek is a major acute hospital in Hamburg's Eilbek district, part of the Schön Klinik group — one of Germany's leading private hospital networks. Founded in 1945 and serving Hamburg under the Schön group since 2006, the hospital employs around 2,150 staff including 314 physicians and holds 805 inpatient beds. It is a teaching hospital of the University of Hamburg Medical Faculty. The Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery was established in January 2023 under lead physician Daniel Fuge, a specialist in plastic and reconstructive surgery who trained at Klinikum Nürnberg, supported by senior physician Dr. Cordula Scheibe. The department focuses on breast surgery in all its forms — augmentation, reduction, lift, reconstruction after cancer and gynecomastia correction — alongside aesthetic eyelid surgery and post-bariatric body contouring. Its interdisciplinary position within a large hospital means plastic surgery patients benefit from coordinated care across adiposity medicine, oncology and physiotherapy. Statutory health insurance (GKV) covers lipedema liposuction since October 2025 for eligible patients; aesthetic procedures are self-pay.
