Morpheus8 at StudioMD is a fractional radiofrequency microneedling system manufactured by InMode that addresses skin laxity, textural irregularity, enlarged pores, acne scarring, and subdermal fat remodelling in a single modality. The device uses an array of 24 gold-tipped, insulated micro-pins that penetrate the skin to a programmable depth of 1 to 8 mm — the insulation along the pin shaft concentrates RF energy deposition at the tip level within the dermis or sub-dermis, minimising surface heating and reducing the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation compared to non-insulated devices. At superficial depths (1–4 mm), Morpheus8 targets the mid and deep dermis to drive collagen and elastin synthesis for pore tightening and fine-line reduction. At deeper depths (5–8 mm), the RF energy reaches the superficial fat pad and sub-muscular tissue layers, causing fat septae remodelling and stimulation of the superficial musculoaponeurotic system (SMAS) — the fibromuscular layer that surgeons address in a facelift.
