Blood Testing & Lab Draw

Type

Blood Testing

Duration

30 min

The on-site clinical laboratory at the Broadway campus processes a full menu of diagnostic blood tests including CBC, comprehensive and basic metabolic panels, fasting lipid profiles, thyroid function, hemoglobin A1c, blood glucose, urinalysis, coagulation studies, and screening markers for cancer, kidney disease, liver function, autoimmune conditions, and nutritional deficiencies. STAT processing and same-day results are available for routine tests, with lab reports faxed directly to referring physicians.

The Polyclinic's laboratory network — now operating as Optum Care Washington — offers one of the most comprehensive blood draw and diagnostic testing services in the Seattle metro area. The Broadway campus at 1145 Broadway on First Hill provides convenient access for patients throughout Capitol Hill, the Central District, and the broader Seattle core. The laboratory handles a wide spectrum of diagnostic blood work in a single visit. Routine panels include a complete blood count (CBC) with differential to assess red cells, white cells, and platelets; a comprehensive metabolic panel covering liver enzymes, kidney function markers, electrolytes, and blood glucose; and a basic metabolic panel for faster electrolyte and renal screening. Lipid testing encompasses fasting cholesterol with HDL, LDL, and triglyceride fractionation — critical data for cardiovascular risk assessment. Endocrine and metabolic markers available include thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) and free thyroid hormones, hemoglobin A1c for diabetes monitoring and pre-diabetes screening, and fasting glucose. Specialty categories extend to coagulation studies, cytology and pathology processing, molecular and PCR-based infectious disease panels, drug testing, and STI screening. Beyond individual test panels, the lab supports broad screening programs for anemia, autoimmune disorders, bacterial and viral infections, cancer markers, hormonal imbalances, kidney disease, liver disease, metabolic disorders, and nutritional deficiencies. Saturday appointments are available at select draw sites across the Optum Care Washington network, and results for routine tests are often available the same day. The Madison Center Lab at 904 7th Ave also accepts draw appointments Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for patients who prefer a downtown location.
