PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) at Tribeca MedSpa is offered across three distinct application protocols — facial rejuvenation injections, combination microneedling enhancement, and scalp hair restoration — all drawing on the same principle of concentrating the patient's own blood-derived bioactive molecules to stimulate tissue regeneration at the treatment site. PRF is a second-generation autologous platelet concentrate, differing from first-generation PRP (platelet-rich plasma) in that it is processed without anticoagulants, resulting in a fibrin matrix that releases growth factors slowly over a period of days to weeks rather than in a single burst. The therapeutic payload within PRF includes platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β), insulin-like growth factor (IGF), and epidermal growth factor (EGF) — all of which play documented roles in fibroblast activation, collagen synthesis, angiogenesis, and cellular proliferation.
