The LightSheer Infinity uses an 800–810 nm diode laser — the gold-standard wavelength for laser hair removal — with a ChillTip contact cooling sapphire tip that maintains skin surface temperature during energy delivery, enabling higher fluences with reduced epidermal injury risk. Its high-speed handpiece mode allows rapid treatment of large body areas such as the back, legs, and chest in a fraction of the time of older diode systems. The SPLENDOR X by Lumenis is a unique dual-wavelength platform that can deliver Alexandrite 755 nm and Nd:YAG 1064 nm laser energy simultaneously in a BLEND mode, or individually in separate passes. The 755 nm Alexandrite is ideal for lighter skin tones and fine hair; the 1064 nm Nd:YAG penetrates deeper and has lower melanin absorption, making it safer for darker skin tones (Fitzpatrick IV–VI) where the risk of epidermal melanin over-absorption is higher with shorter wavelengths. The BLEND mode may improve follicle targeting efficacy compared to either wavelength alone by simultaneously heating the follicle from two spectral entry points. Laser hair removal achieves permanent reduction — not permanent removal — by delivering photothermal energy into the melanin-rich hair follicle bulb and bulge, damaging the structures responsible for follicle regeneration. Because only hairs in the anagen (active growth) phase are susceptible, multiple sessions spaced four to eight weeks apart are required to treat the full population of follicles at each anatomical zone across their growth cycles. Six to eight sessions are typically associated with seventy to ninety per cent reduction in treated hair density. All body and facial zones are treatable.
