WIDLS performs Vitalize and TCA chemical peels to address aging skin, fine lines, blotchiness, dullness, melasma, acne, and pigmented scarring. Vitalize peels use a blend of salicylic acid, lactic acid, and retinoic acid for a moderate-depth peel with minimal downtime. TCA (trichloroacetic acid) peels reach the mid-dermis for more significant resurfacing of photodamage, acne scars, and melasma with recovery of seven to ten days. Results include improved skin tone, clarity, and reduced pigmentation, emerging over approximately one month post-treatment.

WIDLS offers two primary peel formulations. The Vitalize peel is a blended superficial-to-mid-superficial depth peel combining salicylic acid (a beta-hydroxy acid with keratolytic and comedolytic properties), lactic acid (an alpha-hydroxy acid that loosens desmosomal bonds between corneocytes and stimulates epidermal cell turnover), and retinoic acid (a vitamin A derivative that accelerates epidermal renewal and supports dermal collagen synthesis at low concentration). The Vitalize peel produces mild redness and light flaking for two to five days, making it suitable for patients with limited downtime tolerance. It is particularly effective for dull complexion, uneven skin tone, superficial melasma, and active acne with comedonal component. TCA (trichloroacetic acid) peels at WIDLS are performed at concentrations ranging from 15% to 35% depending on the clinical indication and skin type, reaching the papillary to upper reticular dermis. At the mid-dermis, TCA causes protein precipitation and controlled necrosis of the epidermis and upper dermis; the resulting wound healing response over seven to ten days produces significant textural improvement, reduction of photodamage and solar lentigines, tightening of superficial rhytids, and improvement in acne scarring. Melasma treatment with TCA requires careful patient selection and post-peel sun avoidance to prevent post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation; medium-depth TCA peels in experienced dermatology hands, combined with topical priming agents such as hydroquinone and retinol pre-peel, achieve superior melasma clearance compared to superficial peels or topicals alone.
